Delve into the depths of the 2017-2018 Great Michigan Read Book, "X: A Novel," with a keynote presentation from Dr. Michelle Johnson, former Freedom Trail Coordinator, co-founder of Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative, and consulting historian on the Michigan Historical Museum Project. Malcolm Little spent many of his formative years in Michigan before becoming the minister and activist we know as Malcolm X. Dr. Johnson will examine young Malcolm X’s Michigan—and more specifically Kalamazoo—connections from his youth and talk about his impact on our state’s cultural history. A fascinating and fun discussion for all ages!
All attendees will be entered for the chance to win a fantastic door prize!
