Seed Saving 101

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Portage District Library
Programming Room - Second Floor

Event Details

Due to the limited space in the Programming Room at the temporary location of the library, beginning September 7, 2021, a mask that covers both your nose and mouth will be required to attend an indoor program at the library. Masks will be provided for you if you forget to bring one. Unfortunately, we will not be able to serve food or beverages during our programs. However, if noted, a snack will be provided for you to take home as you leave the program.

Learn how to save the seeds from your flowers and vegetables to use them for next year in this hands-on program with Bevin Cohen. Bevin Cohen is an author, herbalist, gardener, seed saver, and educator. He is the owner of Small House Farm, a sustainable herb farm in central Michigan. Using a combination of engaging hands-on activities, discussion, and lecture, Bevin will guide you through seed saving techniques so you are able to use your harvest each Fall to have seeds for the upcoming Spring.
