Join local indoor
and outdoor plant lovers for a plant swap social event, hosted by Portage
District Library.
Please join us to swap stories, advice, and plants with
other houseplant enthusiasts! Bring a pest-free, healthy indoor houseplant or
outdoor garden plant or two (or three!) for trade; they can be potted,
cuttings, or bare root--as long as you're prepared to part with them!
Have old pots that no longer fit your plants or your space? Bring them as well! For the June Plant Swap, bring any indoor or outdoor planting pots to swap; you can trade pots while trading plants and leave for home with a whole new menagerie!
Please note: Come
when you're able and leave when you want, but a giveaway and the plant swapping
happen at 11am on the dot! To make it
fair for all attendees, please, no trades before 11am!!
Event Features:
·
Plant Swap Sponsor Giveaway: A Local Business will be bringing a few
indoor houseplants to giveaway at 11am! Everyone
who attends the plant swap is entered in the raffle for event giveaways, but
you must be present at 11am to win.
·
Community Engagement Table: Stop by the Community Engagement Table at
our June Plant Swap to “Ask the Plant Experts.”
Local houseplant and gardening experts will be at hand to answer all
your questions related to indoor and outdoor gardening. Bring
your questions and concerns (not any infected plants, please!) and leave with
an arsenal of tips to help you as you grow the outdoor garden or indoor jungle
of your dreams!
·
Free Plant Table: Have extra plants to
gift to others? This is a great opportunity to give away propagations or extra
plants you don't want anymore and don’t need to swap for. Folks who come
without plants can grab a free plant from the table to either take home or do
their own swaps with! You are also
welcomed to bring old pots, planters, and other accessories to leave at the
free table!
**Because there is no licensing at these events for sales,
no sales of plants or accessories are allowed, only swaps and giveaways! **
