Purl for Portage: A Yarn Arts Club

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Portage District Library
Maker Space

Event Details

Doors open at 6:30 PM. If you enjoy knitting or would like to learn, Purl for Portage is the perfect place for you to make art with yarn while helping others! Each session is an opportunity to knit scarves, hats, or mittens in an encouraging atmosphere for those who are cold in our community. We welcome those who crochet or pursue other yarn arts too, but basic assistance will be available for knitting. Each month, there will be a recommended stitch or pattern for you to try. Finished crafts can be donated at the library and we will distribute them to community members and local organizations in need. Please feel free to bring your own project, if you wish. There will be yarn and knitting supplies available to borrow.

Donations of new handmade items are accepted at the Information Desk on the main level.
If you have questions or would like to donate supplies to the project, please contact Katharyn: khaas@portagelibrary.info
