Portage District Library
Maker Space

Event Details

Join us to learn how to use the Maker Space laser to etch wood. Gain a solid understanding of what the machine can do and learn how to upload a file to engrave. This class will cover the basics of the laser cutter.

In this class, you will engrave a personalized cutting board for yourself or for someone else as a gift. Choose between either a name, a monogram, an image, or a combination. You can bring your own image on a USB or choose from the images we have available. PDF or JPEG files work well for engraving.

This program will be offered three times during the month of January.

Thursday, January 12 from 3:30 - 5:00
Tuesday, January 17 from 10:00 - 11:30
Monday, January 30 from 6:30 - 8:00

You might have to pick up the finished cutting board after class, depending on time. Once they are finished, they will be ready for pick up at the Adult Information Desk.

If all the classes are full, consider stopping by the Makerspace during Staffed Drop-In Hours to learn similar skills.
